Fashion Faux Pas: What to Leave Behind in 2023 and What to Wear Instead
The year 2022 drew its last bow. Let's take stock of the star trends that we will abandon in favour of new fashion lusts in 2023.
Particularly marked by the pandemic and WFH, fashion has adapted by offering more comfortable clothes, to be comfortable at home. In 2022, jogging, hoodies, low-waisted pants, and the wide paper bag became legion, and elegance has gone into fashion oblivion. On the other hand, we also discovered short or even ultra-miniskirts. On the shade side, we have seen all colours with over-vitamised purple or orange. Some models such as the timeless blazer, straight jeans or 90's inspirations have also been updated. We loved the flower or leopard prints... And some trends ultimately only interested very sharp fashions such as transparency games or the neo-punk trend... So even if some trends were quite desirable, they are now almost forgotten. Here are a few trends of the year that we want to leave behind. But what are we going to replace them with?
The paper bag pants
Paper bag pants are undoubtedly the ones that are readily abandoned in 2023 in favour of the more modern and structured high-waisted straight pants. We will also leave the parachute pants straight back from the 90s and not very seyant for the silhouette. This year, we are betting on elegance with more chic pants, high waist or 7/8th, to beautifully reveal the ankle. They are accompanied by heeled shoes that will give you a crazy look while lengthening your figure.
The riding boots
With their very chic and timeless look, rider boots will slowly give way to laslouchy boots. With their toe that folds on the leg, slouchy boots are the allies of your trendy 2023 looks. Combined with a skirt or pants, this slouchy model will increase your fashion quotient and you will have everything!
The mini skirt
Exit the mini, or even the ultra mini of influencers, in 2023 we return to more reasonable lengths. And this is good since midi or long skirts are a guarantee of elegance. You can mix them in all styles to compose cool looks. In jeans, cotton, or mixed wool... It's up to you to choose it according to your desires at the moment.
The orange
A flagship shade, orange delighted us, but it's time to explore other shades, such as blue, red, or magenta pink, the elected colour of the year 2023. So, expect to bring colour into your lives in 2023. Your looks will give you balm to the heart. Get ready to make pretty combinations of nuances with looks that are different.
The micro bag
The not-very practical micro bag let's face it disappears in favour of larger models or even XXL shapes. You will finally be able to carry a lot of things in your handbags in 2023, and all women will validate unanimously!
Culottes
Culottes have been a popular trend in the past few years but are quickly becoming outdated. The voluminous bottoms are often unflattering and difficult to style. Instead, opt for a sleek pair of trousers or a midi skirt for a modern look.
Cropped Tops
Cropped tops have been a wardrobe staple for many, but they can be difficult to style in a way that is both fashionable and appropriate. Instead, opt for a longer top that can be tucked in or paired with a high-waisted skirt or pants for a more polished look.
Oversized Sweatshirts
Oversized sweatshirts have been a comfortable go-to for many, but they are often unflattering and can look sloppy. Instead, opt for a structured blazer or a tailored sweater for a more polished look that is still comfortable and cosy.
Stiletto Heels
Stiletto heels have been a popular choice for many years, but they can be uncomfortable and difficult to walk in. Instead, opt for a pair of block heels or flats for a more comfortable and stylish look.
Skinny Jeans
Skinny jeans have been a wardrobe staple for many, but they can be unflattering and difficult to style. Instead, opt for a pair of straight-leg jeans or wide-leg pants for a modern, fashion-forward look.
Statement Necklaces
Statement necklaces have been a popular trend in the past few years, but they can be overwhelming and difficult to style. Instead, opt for simpler pieces such as a delicate pendant necklace or a pair of earrings for a more subtle look.
