My Stylish Adventure to Marrakech

With its lively souks, beautiful palaces, and breathtakingly beautiful gardens, Marrakech had been on my travelling bucket list. When the opportunity finally came to visit this fascinating city, I grabbed it without a second thought. Knowing Marrakech can be very hot during the summer, I packed some cool, floating dresses and planned relaxing days by the pool

Magic happens here
In Marrakech, every breath is a dance. The Medina is a labyrinth of narrow streets perfumed with spices and bright colours from textiles, loud with the hustle of vendors. To me, it was simply amazing: the Koutoubia Mosque, towering high in its minaret, and the Saadian Tombs, beautiful in their details.

In the heart of the city, nestled within a botanical garden full of diverse exotic plants, serene pools, and the pedigree of the cobalt blue villa, is the Jardin Majorelle. Once owned by the famous designer Yves Saint Laurent, this garden provided a cool, shady retreat from the cacophony of streets.

Dressing for the Heat
One must be very careful about what to wear during the summers in Marrakech. I chose light fabrics that are breathable and comfortable—cotton and linen.

Daytime Elegance: During my wanderings, I wore a loose white cotton maxi dress. The looseness was just perfect to wander around in souks and visit historical sites. Its loose design created air circulation, while the light colour reflected the sun, keeping me cool. I paired it with a wide-brimmed straw hat and oversized sunglasses for protection against the sun.

Evening Chic: I wore a supple, pastel-coloured linen dress for the evenings. It was knee-length, with delicate embroidery and a flattering A-line cut. The ensemble was dressy enough for the elegant rooftop restaurants yet light enough for the balmy nights. Scarves were another signature accessory—lightweight but just enough to add some flair to the outfit and give me a bit of warmth against the cooler evening breeze.

Poolside Relaxation
After a couple of days of sightseeing, I took some time out to relax. The Four Seasons Resort in Marrakech was the ideal getaway. This luxury resort is an oasis within the city surrounded by a green oasis with lush gardens.

Poolside The resort pools were truly one of the highlights of my trip. For my poolside outfit, I went with this super stylish, trending kaftan in a fabulous Moroccan print. The kaftan would be light and breezy, perfect for meandering around the water. Underneath, I wore this sleek, classic one-piece navy swimsuit that looked and felt comfortable yet stylish.

My days started by lounging in the sun, where I would slip on a big-brimmed hat to be completed by a handsome pair of flip-flops. Refreshing drinks and cold towels, courtesy of the attentive staff of the Four Seasons, made things more pampered.

The Four Seasons Wellness Spa
No visit to any Four Seasons venues would be complete without a visit to its wellness spa. It is amazing and surely one of the must-visits for any search for relaxation.

The Experience: From the time I stepped inside this spa, I felt tranquil. Done with a palette of modern elegance and traditional Moroccan elements, the decorations combined to give me a calm atmosphere. The staff comes with an amiable smile and refreshes you with mint tea, a feeling of being in for a peaceful time.

Treatments: I opted for the traditional Hammam, followed by a massage. The Hammam ritual is a very ancient process for cleansing and exfoliating the skin. I mean, it just made my skin so soft and rejuvenated. The massage, with its aromatic oils and deft techniques, really did liquefy residual travel stress.

The Facilities: The quality of the spa facilities was good. There was a plush-seating relaxation lounge with soft background music, perfect for relaxation before and after treatments. An indoor heated pool and a jacuzzi added more options for relaxation.

Final Thoughts
Marrakech is the city of contrasts: very busy yet very serene, historic yet modern. The journey to this city was just the right mixture of sightseeing and unwinding. By dressing correctly, one can keep cool and relaxed while still having a view of the places. Four Seasons Resort with its wellness spa—this place needs only a thumbs-up, and I will always be ready to recommend it to any travelling person.

From wandering through the Medina to lounging at the pool or indulging in one of many spas, there's something for every kind of traveller here in Marrakech. The stylish adventure of mine in this magnificent city went like a dream, and I cannot wait to return.
