Wearing Chunky Boots After 50

Updated: Mar 18, 2022

Have you noticed this fashion novelty that we find on the feet of all the stars and "fashionistas" of the moment? XXL boots are called chunky boots to invade the shelves. To succumb to it after 50 years, follow our advice.

How to wear chunky boots?

These high boots - mid-calf in leather, faux leather or suede calfskin, have a massive sole, guaranteed rock spirit! Handle with care so as not to commit a fashion faux pas. First, bet on a black or cream leather model, and avoid coloured or two-tone boots with a fluorescent sole, for example. As this model is already "strong", be sure to respect the proportions of your look so as not to unbalance your silhouette. Wear these boots with wardrobe basics, such as high-waisted straight jeans, a large soft sweater, an impeccable white shirt, a pretty blazer or even on a flowing bohemian dress.

On the morphology side

Everyone can put on chunky boots. You just must succeed in composing a look that highlights your silhouette. Opt for a floaty or mesh dress slightly above the knee for the little ones or a long, flowing skirt for those who prefer to hide their legs. You can also put them on very easily with pants adapted to your morphology, such as the famous 7/8th or a pleated skirt, ideal for hiding your little complexes. Undeniably, chunky boots will bring a rock note to your look. While being comfortable to wear!

Indeed, not only do they make us gain a few centimetres thanks to their wedge soles but, in addition, we are comfortably fitted!
